December 26, 2006. Boxing Day? Boxing Day? What the heck is that. Must be a Canadian custom that we Americans don’t know about, but, wait a minute, I’m a Canadian now! Well now, what shall I do today, hmm, time to wake up Tom and Renee for some good cuddling and ear rubs. Here we go, now jump. Yes! A perfect landing, right on Tom. Scratch that spot on my back, yes, yes, that’s it, keep going. Now my ears, don’t forget my ears. Great job, now the belly, oh yes, this is heaven.
Later on there is a mysterious knock on the door, who could that be, I better check it out. Woof, woof (who is it). The door opens and WOW, my own boy and a girl too. Yippee!! Tom’s son Karl and his daughter Caitlin are here. Frank is here t
After everyone opened their presents, we all went over to the park for a good romp in the grass and the mud. That ball won’t get away from me, I’ll show them. I think I’m starting to get the hang of this “sit” thing they keep talking about. Now they keep telling me “stay” at every road before we cross. I’m supposed to wait until they say “ok” but, I’m still not sure how that works. After a good romp, it’s back to the house.
Later on, we all pile into the truck. Everyone is sitting on my bench seat, but, that doesn’t matter. They can sit on the seat and I will lie across them and get ear rubs the whole time. Life is good. When we get to the place we are going, I find a house full of kids and wonder of all, another dog my size. He’s a Lab though. Next thing I know, Boomer and I are running around a big old yard with a bunch of kids. Yahoo is this ever fun. I can’t stop moving. Well, maybe for a quick drink of water. Hey, Boomer has a big old beef bone that he has let me have to chew on, is it ever good. Yum yum, chomp, smack.
Now it’s back in the truck. I wonder where we are going now. Yawn, can’t keep my eyes open. We stopped and let Karl and Caitlin out and now Tom, Renee, Frank and I are on the road again. Hey, that would make a good song title. More ear rubs, and hey, what do you know, we’re back at the house I live at. My home! What a nice sound that has.
