February 4, 2007. Today was a nasty, miserable, rainy day. Tom and Karl went to hockey this morning and I stayed behind with Renee. Later on when they both returned, we decided that such a miserable day was perfect for a run in the park. It was! Granted it was raining and we were all getting soaked, me especially, but, there were no interruptions. Forty-Five minutes of fetch. Tom threw the ball and I returned it. Karl threw the ball and I returned it. Renee threw the ball and I returned it. It was perfect. No other dogs. No people walking. No guys trying to be a helicopter and launch themselves into space. It was just me, my family and the ball. It was almost Zen like.
Once we came in and got dried off, it was off to breakfast and coffee and then it was time to return and watch an old movie called Deep Impact. I had another meltdown for some reason though. Barking at Tom and then I bit down a little too hard on his wrist and bruised it. I’m sorry Tom, I was just playing. Really!!! I didn’t get banished today though and I was allowed to cuddle up and watch the movie.
After Karl went home, Renee, Tom and I went for our usual 2 hour evening walk. By now the rain had at least slowed to a drizzle.
