Velcro Sticks To Sheep Dogs

February 19, 2007. What a cold, wet, grey, miserable day it is today. Yesterday the sun was trying hard to come out and it was warm. Today is just nasty. After getting up and going for coffee and taking Renee to work, when Tom and I returned home, I took one look outside and decided that, “I am not getting out of the truck in that”. After a great deal of coaxing on Tom’s part, I finally, but very reluctantly made a quick dash to the house. Inside we had lots of pats and cuddles and just lay around. Because of the weather, the park was deserted, but, neither of us wants to go out in this.

Tom finally got hungry and we headed out to the truck to go for breakfast. I was not moving though. However, faced with the prospect of being left behind, I made a mad dash for the truck and did not even glance at the park. “Hurry up and open this door and let me in”. Before the door was even half slid open, I was into the truck and firmly planted in the passenger seat.

After returning home, again, I was less than enthusiastic about getting out. Once we got inside, Tom starting repairing the zipper on his rain gear. I don’t know what he’s thinking, but I hope he doesn’t plan on going out. I laid my head on his lap and looked at him. That’s when we both discovered a little known fact. Velcro sticks to sheep dogs. The rain gear has Velcro closures over the zippers, so there I was with a pair of rain pants stuck to my face. Holy cow, who would have believed it.

Tom is busy trying to book the next set of training lessons for me as well as book an appointment with a groomer, as I really do need a bath, a trim, maybe a beard shave and my ears cleaned. On the plus side today, the four day old migraine Tom has been fighting finally let go this morning.
