February 18, 2007. I have been a little remiss in my writing this weekend. Yesterday, we all headed over to the park and on the way I got into a little scrap with a husky who was going past. When we got out to the park, I met up with a couple of old friends, Tia and Jesus (pronounced Hay-Zeus). They are the border collies that I first met when I came to Canada. We were running around a bit together, when suddenly Jesus and I decided to have a little battle. We were both separated and held. We tried two more times but just could not get along for some reason. We used to.
Later in the afternoon, it was training time. At the class today, I was a star. With the way the day started you would not have thought so. I was the only dog who went up and over an A-Frame platform and then did it several more times. I was really good on almost all of my commands as well. After class Pam introduced me to some knew games called search and find. I had fun with that and did pretty good too.
Today we went over to the park but there was people setting up for baseball, so that eliminated my run. Instead we went back to the yard and played fetch there for almost 90 minutes. It was actually a little more interesting too, because the ball would bounce in different directions off of obstacles. Sometimes I’d have to even search for the ball.
Afterwards, Tom and Renee introduced me to something new. We went to a large lake area which is a bird and wildlife sanctuary. We went walking through the trails f
or two hours. It was awesome. I got to see some Canada geese and meet some new people and dogs. I heard frogs croaking in the bush and I got to walk in some streams and drink some fresh clean water. It was just a great day and it wore me right out. When we got back to the house, we all napped for a couple of hours. Caitlin is supposed to phone from Uruguay tonight and we are all sitting and waiting for the call.
