Pot O' Gold

March 19, 2007. What a surprise, it is pouring rain yet again. I’m beginning to think I’m a fish or a duck, not a dog. Despite the rain, Tom and I went to the park again for a run that lasted just a little more than a full hour. I got to meet two more dogs, although I did not get their names. I am continuing my streak of meeting dogs nicely and coming when I am called. Tom also let me walk home off-leash again. I think I’m beginning to like this obedience thing. I still have lots of fun and Tom keeps me safe.

After the run in the park, I was exhausted and crawled up on the couch for a much needed nap. Later on we went for breakfast and coffee. I really miss Renee though and I found her hat and gloves earlier and was lying on them. I hope she gets back soon.

Later on in the afternoon, Tom got a phone call and we went out to the truck and took a drive to the bus depot. I was in the passenger seat and looking out the window, when who did I see but, Renee. I let out a little bark to tell her I saw her. In a few seconds she was in the truck and I am so happy to see her. There were lots of hugs and kisses for me and by me.

After we got home we went for a short walk. It was about to rain again but the sun was poking through and there was a huge rainbow. Right at the end of it, the sun had turned the hill a bright gold colour and it literally looked like the leprechaun’s gold at the end of the rainbow. It was pretty spectacular.

Sure enough it started pouring rain very soon after we left. None of us wanted to get soaked so we headed back. Renee and Tom practiced guitar for awhile and then it was off to bed, where I got to cuddle up.
