Boogie On

April 27, 2007. Today was another nasty, miserable, rainy day. This is a recording. But, despite the rain, Tom and I went out on the park again this morning. Even before we got there we met up with a fellow named Jeff and his big malamute Gus. He is a really big fellow and looks like a husky. He’s 7 years old, so he is nowhere near as exuberant or playful as I am. The best part though, is that he is patient with me.

Eventually, my enthusiasm got the better of Gus and the two of us ran in the park until he couldn’t run anymore. Coquette arrived with her owner so Gus and I ran over to say hello. In fact we ran over to say hello several times. Then it was back to the center of the field where Tom and Jeff were calling us.

I did notice today, that there was a change at the park. Helicopter Man and The Chicken Wing dancers, decided not to brave the rain today. Instead they worked on their choreography under the cover of the baseball dugout. It really looked quite funny with all those people crammed into those little dugouts and trying to wave their arms around and get their dance moves down pat. What a crew.

After Gus left, Tom and I threw the ball a few times and then Elly and her female owner arrived. Elly and I played for a little bit, but by then I was so wired that I was not playing too nicely and kept knocking Elly over. I had stopped listening to Tom as well and he had to come across the park to get me.

I know the rules though. If I don’t listen and Tom has to come and get me, it is back on the leash and back home. That’s exactly what happened today. Tom came to get me and hooked me up and we went home. I did get a full 45 minute run in though, so it was not too disappointing.

Once home, I got a good rubdown with my towel which was nice and warm right out of the dryer. Mmmm, does that feel good? Time for a nap now. Tom says I’m starting to smell a little rank and it will be bath time soon. I haven’t decided yet whether or not I like those bath things. I don’t mind getting wet, since I go out in the rain all the time. I’m just not sure I like getting scrubbed with that shampoo stuff.
