Usually during the night I curl up next to Tom and get as close as I possibly can to him. Last night though with Tamara here and camping out on the floor, I decided she needed my protection (and warmth) more than he did, so I just stretched right out on the floor beside her.
After dropping Tamara off at her appointment we came back to the house. Tom did a few things around the house and made some phone calls and then we went out to the park for our usual run. We stayed a full hour and I did a really good job of obeying commands.
I think of myself as the unofficial welcome wagon of our neighbourhood. I just have to say hello to anyone walking past the yard, be they person, dog or other such creature. When we are on the park, I am a little more selective. I tend to only go up and say hello to other dogs, but occasionally, like today, there is a person I must say hello to.
Today there was a lady jogging and I heard her complimenting Tom on what a beautiful dog I am. Well, that was that, I just had to go say hello to a person of such obvious good taste. I first said hello to her through the outfield fence and then a second time in the open field when she ran past again.
Then there were the three crows and a seagull that I had to talk to as well. They were all cackling at me, so I decided it was time for them to move on. I am taking a bit of a chance here, because the last time I chased any crows a bunch of them turned around and chased me. All went well this time though. Their buddies weren’t around to help them. HA!
After the hellos though, I went right back to Tom when he called me. The cut on my nose that I got the other day, is healing nicely, but it has left a nice pink line across my beautiful black nose. Tom says it will heal completely and disappear and I sure hope so.
