May 18, 2007. Happy Birthday Karl! My young buddy Karl turns seventeen today, why it seems like only yesterday that he was sixteen. My how time flies. Even for me, I am now fourteen months old and have been with Tom for five months already. My former life seems but a distant memory, in fact, I can’t really even remember my former life.

Today we did a forty five minute run on the park. That was quite enough for me as it was a little on the warm side today, so it saps my energy that much quicker. After my run we came back to the house and I watched Tom cut the grass again. I don’t know if he was playing with that hose thing again where I couldn’t see, but when he came back in his shirt was all wet.
Tom finished building covers for his trailer hitch and wiring. Then completed covers for the fenders and wheels too. That’s to stop me from chewing the wiring and lights off the boat. Tom managed to repair the wires, but he’ll have to buy two new yellow side marker lights that I chewed off. He was pretty disappointed in me, esp
ecially since there are so many toys and sticks around to chew on.

Today marked another first. Grand Pappy Frank accidentally let his cat “Mystery” escape from upstairs. She came down to visit with me. We stood there nose to nose and just visited. I didn’t growl, bark, chase or do anything to scare her. She stood there looking at me and we had a good visit. “Mystery” always sits in the kitchen window watching me play in the yard and I bet she’d like to be out there playing too, but she can’t because she is a house cat.
She just had an operation to be spayed two weeks ago and she seems to have bounced back to a full recovery. I think that “Mystery” and I could get to be good friends if we were given the chance. Maybe this meeting will result in the start of a beautiful friendship.
