Two In The Hand

June 22, 2007. Well, here we are again with another set of adventures. Tom and I went out to pick up his boat from the service place and along the way he stopped to get a haircut from Caitlin. She did a great job on his hair and it only took 90 minutes. It’s quite a change from the first time that she cut his hair while at school. That one apparently took a 5 hour marathon. Amazing what experience will do.

When we got to the boat yard though, it was a whole different story. They de-winterized the boat all right, but did not replace the decal which fell off last winter. They didn’t even bother to charge the battery for the boat even though Tom told them about it last week when he dropped the boat off. They replaced their whole service and parts staff over the winter, and Tom says that the service is nowhere even close to what it was. We ended up waiting over 2 hours in the hot sun for them to bring the boat out of the back storage yard.

Holidays are getting close. This time next week and we will be up at the lake. I will get to go swimming and get to take my first boat ride. I’ll be free to roam for the whole summer. It’s going to be great. I’ll get to meet all the people that Tom talks about. Glenda, Ron, Perry, Teri, Andi, Barry, Joanne, Gill, Gord, Clive, Jack and Helene. I think that’s everyone.

Yesterday we went to see Pirates of The Carribean At World’s End, well at least Tom did. I was quite content to wait in the truck. Afterwards I got to see Karl, Caitlin and Tamara.

Today, Tom and I went for our usual run in the park, but there was something different. A guy and a girl were setting up plastic cones all around the park. It looked like a racecourse or something. I ignored them completely to concentrate on my ball. Well, once I went to say hello to the lady.

Later on Renee cam
e back and once we got home, we went and did our big long two hour walk. We haven’t done this one for a couple of weeks. I got lots of compliments and Tom got several smiles with his Sheepdog Patrol T-shirt.

While we were walking down the street a car pulled over and the fellow said that he wanted to sa
y hello to me. When he stopped his car, what to my surprise, he opened the back door and out of the back seat stepped Lok-Lok, a one hundred pound, seven year old, Old English sheepdog. What a surprise, one of my own kind. We were both very happy to see each other and became instant friends.

He is quite a bit bigger than me and looks like he just stepped off the grooming table. His white fir was WHITE and his grey fur was quite a bit lighter than mine. Than may be because I could still be going through the juvenile to adult coat change. I wonder if I will grow as big as him. Too quickly, it was time to go and Lok-Lok and I said goodbye.
