July 8, 2007. It’s a little bit of a grey day this morning and quite cool. So cool in fact, for our morning walk Tom put on jeans and a sweatshirt. It’s feeling a bit like a lazy day too. Once we came back from the walk, Tom and I both laid down for a nap.
After the snooze, Tom gave me some running time by digging out my ball launcher and firing my tennis ball up the steep driveway. A couple of times the ball got away from me and rolled all the way down the hill and ended up under the other neighbour’s cabin. Tom couldn’t reach it, so twice I crawled under and retrieved the ball for him.
In the afternoon I heard some noises at the neighbour’s cabin and barked to give notice. Tom took a look and discovered that their good family friend Glenda had arrived. She has been waiting to meet me, so no time like the present, I headed over there.
She is really nice and was calling me by name and rubbing my ears. Tom and I stayed and visited for the rest of the afternoon and caught up on all the news. I meanwhile explored all around her cabin deck and surrounding area, so I am now expanding my turf. To be honest though, I have been over here exploring on my own before anyone arrived.
After dinner, Tom and I went for our evening walk and were joined by Glenda. We did a full 6 K this evening. It had warmed up quite a bit in the afternoon and has not cooled off yet this evening, so by the time I got back my tongue was dragging. All-in-all pretty slow day news wise.
