August 13, 2007. It was a bit of an unusual day for me today. We did our usual morning walk, but this time we were joined by both Glenda and Teri. Lately we have only been doing a 4K walk in the morning, but today we returned to our full 8K walk. Tom was pretty tired at the end of it. I was so excited to have everyone walking with me, I almost vibrated my rear-end off.
After we returned, Tom was resting on the couch and I was lying on the deck. Then came the knock at the door. I hadn’t even heard anyone approaching. It’s very unusual for us to have visitors. Anyway, it turned out to be a man named Drew who operates a backhoe at the lake.
He was there to give an estimate for digging a trench from the power pole down to our cabin. His price was very reasonable, but Tom has decided he cannot afford to put in electricity. Glenda is still going to though.
After following Drew and Glenda around checking out all the points she needs for her cabin, Tom and I saw a boat approaching our dock. Last night at our campfire, Tom looked across the lake and could see a fire at our good friend’s place. He commented that a voice we could hear sounded like his friend Darren, but it was impossible as Darren and Gill were split up.
Anyway, the boat that pulled in was Gill’s Dad, Gord and his grand-daughter Meghan, who invited us to dinner tomorrow. Dinner with him and his wife, Darren and Gill and the kids. Tom was very surprised by this news and is wondering what this means. We assume we’ll get the full story tomorrow but right now it seems like it may be possible they are back together.
So, as I said, it was an unusual day today, having not one, but two visitors in a day. It has been pretty windy all day, so we will probably not have a campfire tonight, but we shall see after we return from the evening walk. It was only 4K tonight as usual though. Glenda had a sore knee and Teri was tired from this morning, so we walked alone.
We’re pretty tired tonight and Tom still isn’t feeling 100% so we decided to skip the campfire tonight. Instead Tom sat on the deck and played guitar and I lay down at his feet and listened. Afterwards, we watched movies on the laptop.
