I'm Doing Good Dad...Oops

February 27, 2007. Today the sun came back, but it was really cold and the truck was frozen up. Tom had to scrape the windows to be able to take Renee to work. After Tom and I got back, the park looked so inviting, but it was full. There was Helicopter Man and The Chicken Wing Dancers. Down the way a bit was, it seemed like, every fluff ball dog in the neighbourhood. There were nine of them at one point. There was even a lady walking her cat of all things.

A little later we saw Milo out on the park and I really enjoyed playing with him the last time. Unfortunately she brought a fluff ball dog as well as a teeny, tiny little puppy and Tom wouldn’t let me go out there under those conditions. Instead we went for breakfast.

When we came back the park was deserted and open for us. We headed over and then spotted the old lady with her Sheppard, named Coquette who lives just down the street. We have had just passing meetings before, but have never had a chance to play together. Coquette is so well mannered and behaved, it is amazing. The lady said she thought it would be fine if we played together, so Tom let me off the leash and then threw the ball. I ran and got it to show Coquette how good I can be as well.

I brought it back and then she and I started to play. Everything was going great, until, I screwed it up. Coquette was carrying a Kong on a rope, and I guess I thought it was mine and I tried to take it away. Big mistake and she let me know it. Well, I couldn’t let her push me around and I fought back. Tom pulled us apart and I was back on the leash. My fault of course, and I know it.

The lady said that it was ok, that they were finished anyway and wanted to let me have a chance to run. The lady said that I was beautiful when I run and she didn’t want to deprive me of that. So they left and Tom and I played fetch for awhile longer and then all the little kids started arriving at the park, and that was it.
