It's A Small World After All

April 24, 2007. Well, again I haven’t written for a few days, but there have not been a lot of things to write about. We went to training on Saturday and I got to practice more area searching and tracking. Later on in the day we had a barbecue and I got my own steak. Yum was it ever good. I love steak.

Tom, Renee and I went on a two and a half hour walk at my favourite trail at Burnaby Lake on Sunday. There were a lot of people there and lots of different dogs to meet. I got to meet another horse and this time I was not quite as scared as I was the first time. Now, granted, I didn’t get up close and personal with this horse like I did with the other.

Monday night, after guitar lessons we came back and Tom watched Game 7 of the Canucks – Dallas playoff series with me. It was a major battle and it was not looking good for the Canucks, down 1-0 in the first period. But, they fought back and won the game 4-1 and the series 4-3. Now it’s on to the second round playoff against the Ducks. Yahoo, I love chasing Ducks.

Tuesday Tom and I had a couple of coincidences. As we got out to the park a young puppy came running up to me and flipped on her back asking me to play. When the owner came over and he and Tom talked, I got off the leash and the puppy and I played together and had a lot of fun running around. Tom and her master kept talking.

Here come the coincidences. The little puppies name is “Elly”, just like the name of the lady who rescued me at Barks ‘R Us and brought me to Tom and Renee. If that wasn’t coincidence enough, the fellow’s name was Don (last name with-held) and it turns out he and Tom played Little League Baseball together some 40 years ago and have not seen each other since.

What a small world eh? Later on today, if the rain doesn’t really start to pour, we will take our usual walk to meet Renee for lunch. Right now it is just sort of spitting off and on. I decided I didn’t want to go into the house just yet and decided to sit outside, despite the dampness. Hey, once you’re wet, you’re wet.
