July 28, 2007. When we went for our morning 6K walk today, it was almost chilly out at 20 degrees Celsius. It felt good for both Tom and I though. After we got back and had our breakfast, we heard noises and I looked up and who did I see but, Glenda. She has returned! She told us that she would have been here yesterday, but she wasn’t feeling good.
She delivered Harry Potter 7 to Tom, so I know he is really happy and I know where he will be for good portions of the day. That’s ok, because it is getting hot and I’m not feeling too much like running around right now. So, Tom crashed on the couch and I crashed beside him, well actually on top of him at one point. I love to cuddle.
Later on in the afternoon Tom took me down to the beach and we went swimming. There is a wind whipping up so the lake is rough, but the wind is hot air so it doesn’t cool you down at all. Tom floated in the tube for awhile and threw my ball for me to swim to. At one point a bunch of ducks swam past and I ignored the ball and started to swim with them.
They didn’t seem to be at all bothered by me, a big dog swimming amongst them. Then I heard Tom calling me and realized I was getting a little far from shore and turned around and got the ball on my return trip. Once into shore I decided it was time for a blow dry, so I hopped into the boat and we went for a cruise. I sat right in the bow today and looked like a big fuzzy figurehead. Lots of people in other boats and at shore were pointing at me. I’m very comfortable in the boat now.
After Tom had dinner and listened to the BC Lions beating Calgary to go to 5-0 on the season so far, we went for a walk. Glenda was feeling much better and joined us. That stuff they sprayed on the road is still there, so it definitely wasn’t just water, but we have no idea what it is.
