Goof On A Bicycle

July 24, 2007. It is just a wonderful summer day today. Not too hot, not too cold, sunny with some nice puffy clouds. Tom, Renee and I went for our morning walk and did 4K. Glenda declined as she had just gotten up and had not had her coffee yet.

We had just completed our walk when we were surprised by what turned out to be a loud obnoxious jerk on a bicycle. He came around the curve going hell bent for election and naturally I lunged forward. Tom and Renee both tried calling me, but instead of stopping, this moron decided to try and keep riding. He was swearing at me, trying to hit me with the bike and kick me.

All the while Tom and Renee are trying to tell him to stop for 10 seconds while they grab a hold of me. Nope, this guy is too stupid to figure out that every time he moves, I get more excited. Finally Tom managed to grab me and the dummy rides off swearing at Tom and Renee and telling them to put me on a leash. Again showing his ignorance as this is the wilderness and there are no leash rules. What’s he going to do if he runs into a bear or a cougar? Yell for someone to put them on a leash.

I am not without fault in this whole fiasco. I have to learn not to go after bicycles and better yet learn to obey when I am ordered to do something. But the whole thing would have been much better handled if the guy on the bike would use his tiny pea brain a little more and not been so focused on going forward. There is a lawyer that lives down that way who gets into disputes with everyone on the lake, and this guy is just stupid enough to be that lawyer. Sad excuses for human beings are these lawyer types.

Once we returned from our walk, Tom took all the damp T-shirts, towels etc out of the cabin and hung them up on the lines to properly dry out. Meanwhile Renee spent most of the afternoon combing me again. She is doing a wonderful job on me and I am looking more and more like that fluffy dog who came out of the groomers several months ago.

Tom laid down on the couch to continue reading Harry Potter 6 in preparation for his purchase of book 7. Well, that couch is so comfy that he fell asleep while reading and I just found it was extremely important for me to crawl up and join him. I had to show him how fluffy I am and more importantly, he needed to give me an ear rub.

We were planning on having our first campfire of the season tonight and have Ron and Glenda join us. Unfortunately, Ron cut his hand on an axe and they were forced to go home tonight instead of tomorrow. I hope he is ok. So, we did another 4K walk in the evening and decided to postpone the fire until tomorrow.
