July 20, 2007. Happy Anniversary Apollo 11!
Well, here we are again. I really have nothing to report these last few days. The weather took a turn for the worse and it has been raining heavily, so we have pretty much been staying in. Tom has managed to get me out for my morning and evening walks each day, although some have been shortened considerably.
Yesterday we only managed two 2K walks. The first one in the morning was in the rain, just because we couldn’t delay any longer. I really needed to pee. By the evening it had stopped raining long enough for us to get our walk in.
Our plan originally was for me to get a bath to surprise Renee when she arrives tomorrow, but it is too darn cold to even think about it. On a hot day it takes awhile for me to dry. On a cold damp day like today, I would never be dry.
Yesterday we did get some excitement, when a work crew arrived next door with a digger. It chewed up the driveway pretty good and is going to make it a challenge for Tom to get out of the driveway tomorrow. If it dries out a bit, it shouldn’t be too much of a problem. It was another big reason I had to stay inside all day. Just because I am too curious and Tom didn’t want me getting in the way of the workers or the machine and getting hurt.
The digger was here to dig sample holes for the cabin next door, where the new owner wants to put in a septic field instead of his outhouse. None of the neighbours, us included were very happy about that as that usually means all the trees come down. We went out in the rain though and spoke to the construction crew and engineer, who assured us that the new owner had left specific instructions that it had to be done without removing trees.
