Reunited And It Feels So Good

July 21, 2007. What a day this is. After our morning walk and my visit with Glenda and her visitors, Tom and I went into town for our usual errands. We bought gas and propane, newspapers, groceries and Corona. Then we went to wait for the Greyhound. After the bus pulled in, Tom got out and came back a few minutes later.

When he opened the back of the truck, what did I see? Do my eyes deceive me? No, not at all. It’s Renee!!! I’m so excited and happy, my bum is about to fall off the rest of my body because it is wiggling so much. I even tried to climb into the back to get to her. For the first time this trip though, I started barking in the truck.

Now I have to plead innocent here your honour. I was provoked, no really, I was. Not once on any of our trips have we seen what I saw today out the window. Your honour, there was a flock of sheep standing in the field. I was so shocked, that I did a double take and sure enough, they were in fact sheep. Now what is a sheepdog supposed to do. Of course I barked, but like I said your honour, I was provoked. No doubt about it.

Once we got back to the cabin, I really got a chance to say hello. I crawled right up on the couch and put my paws on Renee’s shoulders and gave her a couple of big wet ones right in the kisser. I’m so happy that we are all together again. This trip just keeps getting better and better.

I took Renee outside to show her around. I know she’s been here before. But I have to show her what I have found. While we were wandering, Tom cooked dinner and then we all went for our evening walk. We finished just in time too, because as we got home, it started to rain again.
