Sneaky Bath Day

July 22. 2007. What a great day. I woke up and Renee was here, so yesterday wasn’t a dream after all. So, naturally, once I noticed her sleeping there, I had to jump in and cuddle up with her. I feel complete now, I’m in a great location and I have my two favourite people in the world here with me.

After Renee got out of bed, we went for our morning walk, joined by another of my favourite people, Glenda. We walked down past 10K and then veered up into the bush and started climbing the side of the mountain. On the way up, Glenda, Renee and Tom were picking and eating wild raspberries. They must have been really good judging by their reactions.

Another big surprise we got is halfway up the mountain we could hear bells coming towards us and around the corner came my friend “Buddy” followed closely by his owner Ian who was on a mountain bike. They humans all stopped and talked, while Buddy and I romped in the bush. We had a great time.

We ended up walking 8.5K and got back near 11:00 AM. After breakfast Tom had just settled down to read his Harry Potter book when Renee asked if his boat was supposed to be so far over. When he looked out, he realized that the anchor point had pulled loose. Tom doesn’t have his diving gear here this year so he will have to see if Caitlin can bring it up for him.

Tom did swim out and check out the anchor point and bring the boat in. I found my tennis ball and decided to go for a swim myself. The water is still quite warm even though it’s a cloudy day. Tom ambushed me though. Once I was wet, he covered me in shampoo and rubbed me down all over the place and then I went for another swim and rinsed off. My swim was turned into a bath, of all the sneaky tricks.

After the bath we used the $30,000 hair dryer and cruised around the lake until I was mostly dry. When we got back to the cabin, Tom sprayed me with some de-tangling spray and started combing me. It made the comb go through me much easier. I’m almost looking like I just came from the groomer, although I did go outside and dirty my feet up right away.

I'm back at work...enjoying these photos and stories on my break...wondering how the two of you are doing. Hope you got your Harry Potter book! Hard to believe I was just there yesterday. Take good care.
Love Renee
