Barbecue Licks

August 9, 2007. It was very cold this morning when we went for our walk, in fact it was only 13 degrees Celsius and did not warm up much for the rest of the day. The highest temperature for the day was 20 and the weather was not great, although it did not rain today. Where did summer go?

Tom and I did 8K in the morning and followed fresh deer tracks down the road for a couple of kilometers, but never did find the deer. We are getting closer to a proper photo of a deer for the BLOG.

Other than our walks though, today was pretty much a rest day. We went over to Perry’s place for a visit in the afternoon and they had a campfire going then, just to keep warm. We stayed and visited for awhile and I made a nuisance of myself. I kept finding chunks of wood to pull out of piles. I licked off their barbecue. I kept trying to visit with Libby the Cat and I also made sure to share my dripping wet beard with everyone around the campfire. They all still love me though.

In the evening, Glenda joined us for our walk and we did another 4K. First time in two days we have been able to do an evening walk. After we returned, the original plan was to have a campfire on our beach, but Perry still had his burning, so we went over there and Glenda joined us as well. We stayed and visited until about 11:00 PM before Tom and I walked through the bushes home.
