Dinner At Glenda's

August 8, 2007. What a mixed bag it was today weather wise. It started off sunny, then clouds came in, then it got sunny, then cloudy. It was windy and then we had lightning with the accompanying thunderclaps and after all that, rain. The thunder scared me today. It’s not the first time I have heard thunder, but this was the first time I was actually outside when it crashed. These ones were really loud too.

We were over at Perry’s visiting with Teri and Sandi. Andi was sleeping and Perry was off golfing when the first thunder hit. Tom and I went home right after that and closed the doors of the cabin. I crawled up on the couch next to Tom and hid my eyes. We watched a movie during the storm, so that calmed me down quite a bit. I also got a big bone to chomp on, which really helped me as well.

At 5:00 PM, just as Tom was getting ready to start making dinner, there was a knock on the door and Glenda was there inviting us over for dinner. So it was me, Glenda, Ron, Tom, Gayle and his wife. The humans all ate dinner while I pulled chunks of firewood out to chew on. I had eaten my food earlier. I also got the occasional bits of meat as well.

We had a lot of fun and I made my rounds in the cabin, going to each person to be patted, but settling for the most part on lying on Tom’s feet. His feet make a good pillow for my head. We stayed there until 10:00 PM visiting and laughing and having a great time. Then we started for home.

Walking or even running through the bush in the dark is absolutely no problem for me. Apparently it is not so easy for humans and Glenda followed Tom with a flashlight to make sure he could see his way home. Once there we sat down and watched the rest of our movie until Tom fell asleep and so did I.
