August 7, 2007. Today the weather is looking rather threatening and so it is a good day to go into town to make phone calls and grocery shop. Before we did that though, Tom and I did an 8K walk.
Once we got into town though, Tom made a call to Renee and left a message for her to call back. As soon as he hung up the phone, the phone rang and it was his day and then less than a minute after that Renee called back. She is doing well and is waiting to come up here again on the 15th.
In town we ran into the Cookes and visited for awhile. Once we got back to the cabin we discovered that Teri’s sister Andi and her partner Sandi had arrived. I was very excited to meet them and went into my full bum wiggling routine. We had just started to visit when it started to rain. Tom and I ran back to pull the laundry off the line and then Tom got busy making dinner.
While he was eating, I heard a noise next door and discovered that Glenda had arrived with some friends. These were people I had never met before, so I was barking at them quite a bit, at least until Tom called me back with the squeaker.
I had a nice big beef marrow bone to chew on earlier, which is always a nice workout for me. Good thing we did 8K this morning, because with the rain this evening, I have my doubts we are going for another walk today.
Caitlin and Matias made it home safely yesterday and have started the process of packing up all their things to move into their new basement suite in 2 weeks. It sure was fun having them here, even if it was only for a few days. I’m looking forward to Renee coming up again and then Karl arriving 4 days after that.
Karl was in driving school so we didn’t get a chance to talk to him today. It’s been hard to get hold of him this summer with his two jobs on the go. It is hard to believe that most of the summer is gone and that Tom and I will be heading home in a little under three weeks.
