Bone Soap

July 31, 2007. Wow, the 31st already. We have been here a little more than a month and other than the 5 days Renee was here, we have been here by ourselves. I truly love it up here. I am free to explore in my territory, I get to take all walks off leash and only on a very few rare occasions has the leash been put on me. I get to swim and ride in the boat too.

I have seen, smelled and done so many new things, it is incredible. This is truly a dog’s paradise, human too though. In fact, my photo has joined two other dogs on the wall of honour, they are Scamp and Misty. These are dogs that previously belonged to the family and also spent summers up here. In fact, Scamp died up here many years ago and is buried somewhere on the property. I’m sure I have felt his spirit here and I am proud to be in his special place.

It was a pretty quiet day today. Tom and I did morning and evening walks of 6K each and in between I got a big knuckle bone to chew on. I spent time with the bone in the afternoon and again in the evening after the walk.

At one point Tom and I went for a visit with Perry and Teri, who I’m sure, their cat Libby was not too happy about. She doesn’t like me too much, but I just want to play. I’m nosy too, sticking it into every nook, cranny and bucket that I can find.

I think I might be an addict though. One taste of that soapy water in the bucket and I had to have more. I kept going back and going back. Just a little taste, please, that’s all I want. Unfortunately, either, Perry, Teri or Tom stopped me every time I went back to the bucket. I did get that first taste though. Not too worry though, it is just “green” environmentally friendly dish soap, so even if I drink a little, it won’t hurt me.
